This is the fourth and final shot in this small series, and in some ways it's my favourite of the four; mostly I think because the effect of the wire is a lot more subtle in this one. As I'd be interested to hear which is your favourite, rather than link to the other three, I've included them below this one. Let me know what you think.
In other news; I've reverted the blog back to the black theme ... for the time being at least :)

I like the idea of having the series on one page, it's easier to compare. And the latest one is my favourite too.

This one is definately a more pleasing portrait, however I think the wire so is subtle in this one it is barely a relative part of the picture, and in tterms of "on the wire" I think no 2 is my fav, it seems to me more of a story and less of a portrait, it grabs my attention and holds it!
"on the wire #2" is definitely my favourite. The freckles and intense eyes really grab my attention and make this a very striking portrait. I totally agree with Padraig and feel that this one also conveys more of a story. Great idea of putting them on a single page like this and great series! :)

I will have to go for "on the wire #1" as my favorite. I really like the drama in that one, it makes me want to know the story behind the poor little girl.

Hi Dave I prefer number 1 but they all have their own merits. I think number 1 has the strongest feeling of emotion. I think the hand accentuates the sombre mood.
The previous three have something of a horror movie feel to them (I hope that's not insulting - it's just the feel they have to me). Being a scaredy cat, I think I prefer #4 the most, but I do very much like #1 too.
So much emotion in #1 that it's my hands-down favorite. But the subtle effect in #4 is incredible.

Dave,
I like #1. It still is looking for a movie to represent :)

I cast my vote for "on the wire #2". Her eyes are just incredible !!!

My favorite is the second image from the top because I think it's the most complex in terms of visual juxtapositions. I love the contrast of the warm, rusty orange and her blue eyes; the diagonal line; the sharp vs. soft net opposite the diagonal; high vs low contrast also opposite the diagonal. Lastly, I love her expression too. This image is really a feast for the eyes in my opinion and I want to keep looking at it and discovering more surprises...
Hi Dave, #3, I was not excited about the wire cutting the image in half diagonally. It causes a conflict between the more simple shallow side and the busy double layered wire.
#2, The eyes are great but doesn't seem to balance with the rest of her facial features. I don’t like the idea of her nose looking slightly larger than it should be (to me anyways). I am not a fan of the silvery metallic looking lips. There is another diagonal wire that cuts through the image.
#1, I like the amount of detail pulled out from it, the color toning, and the uniformity across the chicken wire and having the hand as the subject. I still enjoy how the image portrays itself as something dark and dreadful is occurring, gives that eerie feeling.
Today’s image #4, I like a lot as well but for a different reason. This is a different type of look that we don’t normally see from Harmony. It gives me the impression as something dark just finished or has a dark secret that she needs to keep to herself. I also like the out of focus fence and how it casts subtle blemishes across her face. It adds that mysterious look to it as where is she. I pick 1 & 4 for different reasons as my favorites. If I had to pick only one, it would be #4.
Thanks everyone, and it's good to see such a varied response to all four images. My favourites are #1 and #4 - #1 because it's the most dramatic, and #2 because I like the more subtle effect.
Kevin: yes, so far I've been really impressed with the GF-1, to the point where I'd consider it a viable alternative to my 5D Mark II. The image quality is fantastic, it's very rugged, and it's autofocus is much quicker than most other compact cameras I've used. In short, I'd definitely recommend it.

Hi David - superb shot, the out of focus wire almost gives it a softening effect- much like the old tights across the lens ? If you get a moment maybe you could comment on my corporate work http://www.specialimages.co.uk/blog/ All the best Grant- PS google likes back linking via comments left on blogs

I like no. 2 most. Very intense, with those penetrating eyes.

As you asked for help in the "show the original" matter, here it is another one:

Grantly: thanks, and I'll take a look when I've got a bit of free time.
Luisa: thanks, I'll add it to the list.
This is my favourite, definately.
