As I mentioned when I posted my previous entry, Jason, Catalin Marin and I have just started a new venture: Photoshop tennis. If you're interested in finding out a bit more about it, and seeing our first game, you can do so here:
The basic idea is that each Friday, at or around 4pm GMT, we'll post three different edits of the same RAW file – and you can speculate about who produced which version, let us know which you prefer, and so on. On Tuesdays (i.e. today) we'll let you know who created each version.
Anyway, my reason for mentioning it again is that I was looking through my images for ones that we could use for this week's game (which starts on Friday), and came across this shot. It was taken while I was out in Dubai this February, while out shooting with Catalin and Robin Nichols. In the end though, we decided to go with a different image so I thought I'd blog this one today.

For what it's worth, I wonder if you haven't brightened to top of can in particular a bit too much. The white seems just a bit too dazzling to me, and that very famous Shell logo stands out as a much cooler yellow that they really use to my eye.
Regardless, it's very compelling.

Great composition! Love the juxtaposition of the can and the city. Interesting...

Sorry to be a dissenting voice but it fails to hit the spot for me, I just don't like the composition or the processing.

Very interesting, especially in the context of this little gulf oil spill :)
It works for me, but maybe I'd like to see just a bit more texture in the white of this can. I guess it was not feasible or it would have contrasted too much with the background.
Nice job

I like it, David. It's very striking.
