Having spent most of my life in the UK I still find it rather odd to see people carrying firearms in public: in this case, two 'forest rangers' (?) patrolling the lake I photographed last winter.
In other news: I'm photographing another wedding this weekend, so I'll have some wedding shots/portraits to post next week :)

I really like how you were able to get such detail with the cloth folds in the black shirt. It is attention to detail like that which really makes your photography appealing.

Did those forest rangers know that you came up from behind them and took their picture?
:)
Great detail in this image.

Thanks Kevin.
Carlos: they knew I was there, but I don't think they noticed me photographing them. Normally, I would have asked, but on this occasion I thought I'd just grab the shot :)

I'd be a wary of this bunch, Dave. They seem to be attached to the police force, but are known to have shot & beat up folk with very little reason: don't push your luck, mate...

Dave: there were five of us there, and just two of them, so I wasn't too worried. If I'd have been on my own though I'd have left well alone.
Even though you can't see their faces this photograph reveals a great deal about these two character's character. My impression is that they are just looking for trouble, or looking for something to move so they can shoot it. Quite a scene.

Nice BW shot. Shaved heads always look cool in BW.
It's weird to me that someone would think these guys were up to no good just because one has a gun. When I see someone with a gun in a holster (as opposed to waving one around) it makes me feel safe. I guess it's just a cultural thing. They aren't illegal here, so people carrying one probably are supposed to be. I carry around a .45 sometimes. All you have to do here (Tennessee, US) is take a course that tells you not to shoot at someone unless you can prove that you thought they were trying to kill you right then. Then you get a card to carry and you are good to go. In fact I have very similar shots to this one of me and my friends just hanging out one weekend at river around here.

Kevin: yes, I suspect that it's definitely a cultural thing.
