Although there's not much I can tell you about this shot – it's the headlight on a Toyota Land Cruiser, taken while out in the desert in Dubai – I would be interested to hear what you think.

On a different matter ...

As I've mentioned a couple of times, I'm running a couple of workshops in Austin (TX) in February: a one day HDR Crash Course on February 4th and a two day Creating Dramatic Images workshop on the 5th and 6th. There are still a few places left on the HDR workshop, but only one place for my Creating Dramatic Images workshop.

If you think you might be interested in attending drop Dave Wilson a line who is coordinating both workshops:

Wow. A real "sow's ear to silk purse" transformation. I love it!

As a pure geometric abstract, this is fabulous!

Okay... so no North Pier or beach shot.... this, however, is a SWEET photo. Love the "steel blue" toning. Kind of looks like I'm staring at the eye of a really mean, but totally cool, Terminator. Fantastic!

Beautiful. But why was the geometry changed from the original (upper right corner)?

had same reaction as Carlos at 2:22. nice. :)

Thanks all :)

Alexis: the original, to me at least, looked like it needed to be rotated, but I didn't want to lose any of the content along the bottom edge of the image. With the change you mentioned it looked better and I didn't need to sacrifice any content elsewhere in the image.

Ah... I see the headlight won the vote. Amazing! The detail recovery and enhancement are remarkable. Beautiful.

Heh, first thing I thought of was Transformers.

I watched it on Channel 5 last night, so I wouldn't read too much into it! :-)
