It's been a while since I blogged anything, but I have been busy: coding a new gallery to showcase some of the best images produced by the photographers who have attended one of my workshops, subscribe to our online tutorials, or who have had some one-to-one training. If you haven't seen it already you should definitely take a look:
And if you have the time, please leave a comment on any images you like. I'm hoping that it's going to develop into a really dynamic and inspiring gallery, so the more people who contribute the better :-)
Anyway, while I haven't had a great deal of time to get out and about with my 'proper' camera, I have been playing around with my new iPhone, including trying out a whole heap of different camera apps, various sharing apps, and more post-processing apps than you can shake a stick at.
For example, this one was taken using ProCamera (my current favourite camera app), edited with Filterstorm (which is fantastic), and then shared using Instagram.
And in case you're wondering, yes, the doll's eyes really are pink. I think they were blue when we bought it, but after been left out in the summer sun for a few weeks they ended up looking like this. If it was down to me I think it would end up in the bin, but both Tabby (4) and Tiggy (21 months) both love playing with it so I haven't had the heart to give it a decent burial ... at least not yet :-)

Okay... even before your processing this doll freaked me out! I think if you were to give it a decent burial it would show up in your house again... and again... and again!!!!!

Claus: I am so contacting the ILAPDA! (International League Against Plastic Doll Abuse). Thanks for taking me to a new level of "freaked out"! :)

I pity the kid that got this for a birthday or xmas. And I cant say what freaks me out the most. Is the sparkle in the right eye, the colors (even in the original), or the dolls gaze?
BTW I heard Jeffrey Dahmer played with dolls as a kid, so this doll explains a lot

LOL! The grain that is expected when using iPhones in low light really works here! Could be an album cover for a grunge band. Very cool!

I can't decide which is creepier, this one or the original. Cool shot and pp.
IllOgical42: hopefully our kids will grow up to be slightly more sane, but I guess you never know.
Lawren: yep, it definitely helped with this one.
RoberB: I agree, they're both creepy, but I think the processed version has a slight edge :)

I agree with all the above, this is creepy and should be disposed of very carefully or it will show up again when you least expect it lol...

I expected to see the sand image this morning. Whoa! caught me off guard this morning. Interesting processing, kind of like a bleached effect. I like it. I think I had seen this doll in a few horror movies :)

Yet another benefit of this site. I'm planning on getting an iPhone in the fall, and I was curious about the camera on it, and if it can be used to take pics in a pinch. Thank you for the app recommendations! This saves a great deal of work.

Reminds me of the movie Chucky... Never liked that doll. Like the photography though.
