I bumped into this guy on Blackpool seafront a few weeks ago and while we chatted I asked if he'd mind if I photographed his camera. It's a Praktica B100, produced somewhere around 1981, and it was in absolutely mint condition, as was the manual focus 35-70mm Sigma lens. Back then I doubt I would have given it a second glance, but 30 years down the line it was definitely worth a second look. There's something about the solidity and build quality of old film cameras that even the most expensive digital DSLRs just can't seem to match. Either that or I'm getting old and nostalgic :-)

And in case you're wondering about the piece of card in his hand: I didn't get a detailed look but I think it was some sort of manual exposure crib sheet.
