I was originally going to call this ‘Paul Klee’s Kitchen’ but it’s the only thing I’ve shot recently that’s even vaguely related to this week’s Photo Friday challenge – Discovery – so I thought I better put it up before I ran out of time entirely. I took this part way through decorating our kitchen and it was an attempt to capture the various ways in which the walls reflect the history of the various layers of paint, paper and fittings long gone.
I don’t think it works all that well but I decided that given a choice between putting this up or missing a Photo Friday challenge, I’d rather the former. And while it might not be all that great, it does at least match the theme ;-)

To me it is more like, Arcimboldo working out his kitchen! I like it!
However, I don't know why I cannot manage to see your pictures in large scale. Can see just as the one above on comments :(

This is fantastic! I don't know why you're not more fond of this one; I think it's one of my favorites of yours.

Thanks.
Judith: I think that the reason I was a bit uncomfortable about this one is that it was the result of some trial and error rather than a conscious decision to create this sort of image. With a number of my post-processed shots I know, before I start, what I want the image to look like. With this one, I didn't. Not that that matters too much, but I guess that I didn't really feel that this shot was the product of a particular creative intention.

Claire: I suspect that you may be viewing my site with IE v5 - which doesn't play nicely with the CSS I've used to control the navigation bar at the top of the screen. I have tried to fix this, but to no avail (I think it's something to do with the CSS 'float' property).
