It was a lovely bank holiday Monday yesterday – the sun was shining, and it really felt like summer. This was taken in our local park and is another shot of our youngest asleep in her buggy. The DOF is slightly off, but I do think that it captures something of the beauty of this time of year.

Also, Brandon Stone, founder of photoblogs.org has set up a new site – blog.photoblogs.org. The site has a number of functions, including drawing attention to noteworthy photos, providing a forum for the discussion of photography related matters, and so on. The blog’s about page includes a fuller description of what the site is about – it’s definitely worth a visit, and should prove to be a useful resource. If you’re interested, I’ve added a brief review of Radio Uruguay to the site’s Photo Spotlights section.

Dave -- a very natural and unprocessed sort of shot. (At least that's how it looks!) This is really sweet and appealing -- I like it a lot.

Very nice photo. Love it then summer is nearing. What flowers are they?

Joe: thanks. Despite my tendency to post-process I do like to take straight shots too. And I like this one too. It would have been better with a greater DOF, and the lighting is a little bit harsh, but on the whole I am quite pleased with it.

Kjetil: it's blossom from a tree, but I'm not sure which one.

So peaceful. So Innocent.

Your depth of field is diguised by the softness of the flower petals, so I don't see that as an issue. And I think you've worked with the harshness of the light by taking that left edge of the picture into darkness, so that it looks well controlled.

The photo is made by those little fingers -- the texture and warm color.

Thanks.

Cleément & Martina: no, I'm not familiar with the expression ... sorry.

Jessyel: thanks. And I know you've contributed to the discussion at blog.photoblogs regarding the way rankings are put together, but thought I'd mention it in case others haven't come across it yet.
