I'm beginning to realise that I have a thing about reflections :-)
This one is of the North Pier at Blackpool and was taken by resting my camera on the ground in front of a rather shallow puddle, and I think it's the lack of depth that has given this shot it's rather odd look; i.e. the distortions and granular noise are bits of the ground beneath the puddle competing with the reflection. Anyway, whatever the reason, I quite like this one.

First comment! This is great. When I first looked at it, I couldn't tell what had created, as you say, the "odd look," but I enjoyed it. This is original and quirky, but very cool. Keep it up.

haha. it's rare that i am the first to comment. :)
i really like this photo. it almsost seems like it is snowing, and the whole picture has a sense of festivity that i really like. as if everyone is going to the movies, some sort of exodus. the noise and the disturbances to the reflection seems to me like confetti as well. what is see in this photo is completely different from your explanation... so thank god for your commentary!

Stunning! The colors really do it for me together with the 'odd look' ;-)

Not that I'm hoping for rain when I come to Blackpool, I'm hoping for the opportunist puddles near great reflectionable (is that a word?!?) buildings so I can come away with images like this. I was wondering what PSing you had done to this before reading your comment. Never would have guessed. Well crafted image !

This one is cool, I really like the colours! Presumably you flipped the image to make the writing left-to-right?

I like this one. I love the color of the warm lights in contrast to the 'cold blue' look that most everything else has.

I haven't managed to figure it out completely, but the combination of colors and lights is really appealing.

So you were aiming into the puddle?
amazing...

Really interesting shot. Just like everyone else, I love the colours.

I agree with Emily on this one, there is a real 'wintry' sense about it. You could almost imagine the white star in the top left was a snowflake.
Love the contrast of the warm and cool colours too.

i really like this one. my first reaction was: "what the hell?" but then it started to remind me of the color scheme of the recent incarnation of romeo and juliet. very festive and dark at the same time. awesome.

Thanks all. And yes, this was just shot in the puddle then flipped in PS.
