I don't have a great deal to say about this one other than to explain that this is the bonnet of a BMW parked near where I work.
As an aside, I'll apologise in advance for not answering any chromasia related emails for a few days: I'm having a really busy week at work and am travelling down to London on Friday to photograph a friend's wedding and won't be back till Sunday. I'll be putting something up on Friday and Sunday, but am not sure about Saturday yet.
As for the wedding: I have to say that I'm getting a bit nervous about it. I've shot a few weddings in the past, and they've gone well, but it was quite a few years ago and I was shooting film. Fortunately I got my 20D in time to feel comfortable with it so I'm sure it will go ok. I think the main thing is that I'm doing this for friends, and for me that makes it more worrisome. Sure, if I was doing this professionally it would be important to get it right, but screwing up a job doesn't seem quite so bad as messing up your friends' wedding. All of which won't happen of course, but I'll worry about it nonetheless ;-)

Good luck shooting the wedding, David. I've found over the years that the only people worried about being creative are the creative. You'll do fine.
Nice eye on this shot. That lone yellow leaf feels even lonelier against a field of deep blue and *prison* bars.

Nice shot. Good luck with the wedding, that 20D should server you well. Take lots of storage and just keep clicking!

It's nice to know it's not just down south that the weather's bad! I like this, it's gives an impression of winter's wet weather and grey skies, while still looking very fresh.

Wow. Just when I post something I'm happy with, you go and blow me out of the water. I love this shot...the colors, the droplets, the angle, the single leaf... You have an amazing talent for making the ordinary seem extraordinary. Your site has renewed my enthusiasm for photography and given me something to strive towards. Thank you for taking the time to share your world with the rest of us.

This is exactly what I needed to boost my self-esteem way up. I've been in a drought for taking photos, although I still take them..they just aren't "wow" material. Lately I've just haven't been able to see anything through the photographers eyes. Nothing catches my eye, and the weather in Calgary has been short of spectacular the past couple of weeks.
Your photo of the rain on the BMW hood is gorgeous. I'm not picky about photos, but after looking through your archives, I'm truly impressed by your work and I strive to take photos half as good as you do.
Keep up the good work. I'll make sure to check back once in a while when I feel uninspired. Cheers!

Again - a really nice shot. The leaf makes it more interesting.
And yes, don't worry about the wedding. I guess your friends are really happy that they know the guy who is taking the pictures of their special day. And they will love the result. Good luck!

Simple, yet so powerful.
Like meny times in life..when you're depressive, think you're just a little poor leaf, imprisoned in your everyday busy schedule..something wakes you up from that boring pattern and you realise you drive a BMW..or have a lovely girlfriend/wife..smart kids.. Isn't life just wonderful! :)

Very nice. Someone's put a lot of wax on this car. I like the way you've turned it upsdie down and put the leaf against the dark blue

Leave it to a BMW to give you such a beautiful reflection! :) I love this shot and especially the lone leaf. Looking at your photos never fails to open my eyes to new photo possibilities. Nicely done!

I really like the simplicity of this shot. It took me a while to figure out what it was, but I think it was my fault for imagining it was something really complicated. That yellow leave there works great.

Something about this gives it an almost 3-D quality for me, probably the fence and sky behind the cripsness of the droplets. Great shot!

Oh wow! At first I thought it was taken looking out through the windshield and I thought ooooh I should post some of the shots I've taken through my windshield because I want to be cool just like Dave. Then I realized that I was actually looking at a relecftion in the hood of the car and thought forget it, my car will never be that clean.
