I'm much happier with this shot than yesterday's, and other than that I don't have a great deal to say today: which is good, because I have no time to say it anyway ;-)

As I've mentioned, I won't be around tomorrow but hope to put something up from the wedding on Sunday.

this is a cool one! the muted color scheme, the composition and the use of shallow dof really appeal to me. and i'm strill trying to figure out what the h*ll it is i'm looking at:)

I must say, personally I prefer yesterday's shot, with the darkness inherent in the image, and - as people said - the very Aphex Twin/Chris Cunningham styling to it.

That's not to say I don't like this one, just that I prefer yesterdays. And there we go, that's personal preferences for you, I guess. *grin*

Similar composition to yesterday's shot but very different effect, looks great!

Excellent composition, very cool colours, well done

Very much liked here.. I like the 'shape within a shape' effect, meaning the curves of the in-focus area and the soft gentle curves of the blurred background -- it's a wonderful abstract composition.

Looking good! Real good. Cool with the blurry background and a good focus on the glass, or whatever it is.

What is it ?

I much prefer yesterday's. Isn't that funny? To me, this one the subject matter here is technology, computers in particular. Very well done - lovely narrow color range - but the subject matter of yesterdays, and the color, and the angles... I don't know I just found it more exciting. Maybe because of the sense of anticipation... this one doesn't have that, it's more of a study than a story. Does that make sense? Total personal preference, don't mind me. :-)

That's a great shot. What's that glass thing?

comment by Rodrigo Gómez at 06:26 PM (GMT) on 15 October, 2004

I totally agree with you. I like this shot much more than the previous one. I don't know. More clear... but abstract at the same time.... The color scheme is very attractive...

Good luck with the wedding!

I like the soft blurred out colors from the last one, but the reflection of that chrome/polished end gives this image an edge over the previous one.

comment by Mark at 07:43 PM (GMT) on 15 October, 2004

Nice shot - ah the beautiful lines of the toggle switch. Pitty the reflection isn't more 'interesting'.

Very nice. The DOF is great.

Great shot, David! Hope the wedding is fun...

My first thought here was HAL - "I can't do that, Dave."
Nice abstract and very crafty focal treatment.

I like this. Tell you what, you should block all comments that mention the words, "inherent", "space" and "color"/"colour".

Is that your office then?

awsome shot...

I love this one!
In the office, I am always looking for the place my digi want to shoot.
I have never found this composition.
I really like this!!!

Wow

Thanks everyone.

As for this shot, it's part of a polygraph that I've shot before, as was yesterday's. And the 'glass thing' is actually the polished metal end of a rail that runs along the side of the machine, about 3/4" in diameter.
