This shot was taken five minutes after yesterday's, and initially I wasn't too impressed with it and didn't intend to put it up. But, after working with it for a while, I've decided that while it might not be as visually interesting as yesterday's shot it is quite eye-catching.
I'd be interested to hear how you think the two compare.

I like this a lot better than yesterday's. Very nice colours.

I like the juxtaposition of the two - the first is distinctly blue/puprle, with focus on the background, and the second is yellow/green with focus on the windshield. They are interesting individually, but much more so together.

I took a vaguely similar shot a while back although that that was during the day rather than at night - must try that!(http://dailyimages.fotopic.net/p7709980.html).
It's interesting that you mentioned about trawling through your archives. I was looking through the photos in your Portfolio the other day, and was wondering, if you would still count them all as being Portfolio shots or whether you think you've improved a lot in taking photos that you might not now count them among your better shots.
Similarly, I wondered if there are shots on Chromasia from near when you started that if you took again now, you would not consider them good enough to put up?
I guess either way it shows your transition and improvements as a photographer.
Enough of my waffle! ; ) I prefer yesterdays to todays, btw!

It's funny. I posted something similar here 4 days ago, but I have to confess that this pic captures the light reflex in better way.

Phil: good questions.
In terms of my portfolio: I suspect you're right, I'd probably change things a bit if I went through it, and I probably should. I guess though, in some ways, that I'm a bit reluctant to do that because it would involve demoting shots that, at the time, I was really proud of. I should do it though.
As for whether there's stuff that I wouldn't put up now - absolutely, some of them are pretty crap. But, as much as anything else, chromasia is a chronicle of where I've been, it's not a gallery, so I'm happy that they stay.
And I prefer yesterday's too, but I do like the almost metallic feel to this one.
GLIJ: yes they are similar but I'd like to see a larger version of yours.

I preferred yesterday's as a first reaction but I think that outside the context of this website this pcture stands up well. If we saw it in isolation it would be a very arresting image. It's spoilt for me by the red and green dots. What are they? Also, I should have liked all the raindrops to be in focus. Too picky? You've taught me that things don't have to be in focus so perhaps I am!

GLIJ: thanks :-)
peter: I don't know what the dots are. Perhaps they're examples of the orbs that fraxinus referred to yesterday. Here's some links he sent me after I mailed him about this topic:
And I'm inclined to agree about the focus but I don't think it would be possible to get enough DoF in these circumstances.

While I liked yesterday's shot this one made me gasp for some reason. This one is less distracting, I don't know. Can't put my finger on it.

i prefer yesterday's as well, it had a stronger impact on me. but i do like the colour on this one.

I prefer the yesterday shot but also this one is a great photo.
I think the two dots are the traffic light that change in the exposure time.
I'm wrong?
Great work as always.

I guess this doesn't work as well as yesterday's entry because of the lack of subject in the background. I mean, the lights are there, but I prefered when I could actually see clearly what it was. I think the colors and lights are cool, though.
What I can't manage is to see where the focus is.

Well..I find today's entry more interesting. It has much more details..it's warmer in some way. Compaired to this one, yesterday's looks like an accidental shot :)

yesterday's was beautiful. this one is soothing. great job. glad to see some good window shots online. the colors in both shots are outstanding.

I like this one a lot as an abstract image; it just has particularly nice colours in it. In the previous one I felt like the rain and the scene were distractions from each other, whereas I feel like this one works better for me.

I've taken similar shots and for some reason I find them quite interesting. There's no subject but a repetitive form - but I still enjoy them.
As for your comment about comparing to yesterday's image - it's sort of tough because their only similarity is the presence of the water and its effect on the lens. Yesterday's was an obscured subject whereas today's concentrates on the water itself. So I wouldn't pit them against one another and rather say that I enjoy both in different ways. Or then again, perhaps I'm just waffling on the issue.. :)

I think this one is really good. Comparing these two shots the first one has to many reflections on the right side and so I find it a little bit exhausting to look at it for a longer time.; the second one has intersting colors and is much warmer.
