For some reason this shot perfectly captures my mood this evening, but I can't explain why ... something to do with still being full of cold, not quite with it, and rather edgy/ill at ease. And this time I genuinely have no idea what other people will make of it so would be interested to hear your thoughts.
It would have been nice to have been on better form these last few days, and have had some stuff to put up that I was really happy with, as since getting mentioned on slashdot yesterday chromasia has had 23,000 visitors, which is about two thirds of what it normally gets in a month. Mind you, if you go read the comments on the article you'll see that the slashdot folk aren't overly impressed with photoblogs ;-)

What do /. folks know about photography anyway? :-)
Nice image ... I think you'll enjoy long exposures -- it's great fun with a dslr... Hope your cold subsides soon! Not much I can do about the nasty weather though... Oh -- and I think your form has been just fine -- yesterday's imagine was quite nice... Get Well!

Well the slashdot folks may not be impressed by photoblogs. But this photograph is fabulous and it's a pleasure to view it.

NICE! I like both the reflection off the glass and the slow exposure of whatever was passing by to the right.

I like it. Looks like some crazy deep sea fish on the (tram stop?) shelter there. :-)

I guess that explains why I couldn't get to your site yesterday!
I do love the "feel" of this shot, and thanks for all the technical info yu provide and PS techniques.

Looks like we're on the same page today! :) Wonderful image. I love your night photography and I love your reflection shots, and this one's got them both... great photo!

PINK FLOYD. I have no idea why, but that's what first leapt to mind when this loaded. This is one of my favorites. Really nice, Dave.
i really like this one! it looks as if a large colorful ameoba has invaded your picture. very, very cool.

A fascinating image. I'd love to see a large print of this as I'm sure my laptop screen isn't showing me all the details. Not immedialtely obvious it needed 30 secs, which is also intriguing. Well done, Dave.
PS Did you alter the image in the bottom LH corner? - not a criticism - I think it adds to the picture?

I can see what Myla means about Pink Floyd, the grey part of the reflection looks like one of the characters from The Wall to me. Nice shot Dave.

This scares me for some reason. Very eerie and nightmarish.

It is scary.. especially those reflections that somehow look like bacterial blobs.. Excellent capture though.

Thanks all, and I'm glad the oddness of this shot came across. I didn't see it as scary, but I did think it was quite edgy (if that makes sense.
peter: no, I adjusted the overall contrast of the shot but didn't do anything special to the bottom left-hand corner. It was already poorly lit so the Curves adjustment dropped it even further.

Love this photo as well... I'm actually enjoying the window shots. I think because every time I try my luck at a shot like this, it always comes out horribly wrong. heh...never this cool.
And I agree, wouldn't worry about what those /. folks think.

I like the contrast between the organic, distorted reflections on the left and the regimented geometric architectural lines in the right of the image. There is definitely a Ronald Searle feel to those reflections
