I had hoped to try and find some time to go out and shoot today but, what with one thing and another, it didn't happen so I ended up trawling through the shots I took last week. And oddly, when I looked at this shot last week, I didn't much like it, but today it suits my mood a lot better.
As for post-processing: the vaguely cross-processed feel is the result of changing the colour balance of the shot with the Curves tool, and the contrast and saturation are the result of duplicating the image and setting the blend mode to overlay.

I like this. I see it as a departure from your usual work. The processing you've done makes it seem grittier, and adds to to the urban feel. As usual, nice composition with the railing as a border.
Where was this?
Thanks,
Zach

Zach: thanks, and yes, it is a change from my recent stuff though quite similar to some of the shots I used to produce with my G5. As for where it was shot: it's at the top of the steps leading down from Blackpool's North Pier to the beach.

I enjoy the tones in this. I like the rail at the top, gives the photo some depth.

Different from your usual shots, but I like the grungiest in this one! Enjoyable work as always =)

"Graffiti permitted here". that's interesting, never seen that before.

I love the saturation and contrast of this shot. For some reason it took me a while to realize what the metal railing was. Graffiti Permitted Here eh? Isn't that rather akin to finding a beer can on the roadside labeled "Littering Permitted Here."? Lovely shot in any event.

Very fun and vibrant, David. The gas masks are a great find.

this rocks, especially more on the dark theme.

I agree with Zach that this is grittier than your normal work. Gritty is good!
Great shot as ever. Where do you find the stamina to keep going with your daily posting schedule?

Greetings from the parking lot of the Shilo Inn in Oakhurst, California (The first WiFi network I found driving through town). I saw the comments and added one of my own. All logos and "vote for me" stuff was taken down on my site. I do like my new silver shoes though. (in celebration of getting my ass whooped by djn1).
