I like the different format. Often, I find the use of more than one photo for story telling not just more meaningful, but exponentially more meaningful. Its so much easier to convey complex ideas and story lines with a sequence. Its like graduating from Haiku to Verse. Granted, there is a time for Haiku and the solitude image, but people don't do enough of the essay type stuff.

great news, congratiolations! Strange though, from the image
alone without the background information, it's impossible to tell
if the pregnancy is a joyful or scary event. It's got no emotional
content.

hairy fellow: yep, they're all pleased. The youngest hasn't quite got the hang of the idea (she's almost two), but she seems ok about it. I guess she'll be slightly put out when he or she arrives and displaces her as the baby, but I'm sure she'll be ok.

Lyle: yep, I guess I'll be following the story as it develops.

Andy: I'd be surprised if this entry topped more tea?' for comments, but you never know.

barb: yes, the pictures themselves don't give much away. I guess I was focussing on the 'sign' aspect of this scenario but either of the shots might well have been stronger had I included some emotional content.

As for the photos, I really like the side-by-side. It tells the story exceeding well, probably better than any single photo could. And I like the contrast of B&W and color. If I had to quibble about anything, it would be the hand position of your wife in the left photo. It's out of focus but yet still strikes me as slightly odd.
