I love the effect, it's one of those photos you can't immediately make sense of in your mind.

Hi dave,
I've been following your blog ever since I discovered what rss was (it'll be a year now one of these days), and just wanted to say that you're doing an excellent job! You have a great eye for shots, almost all of your photos are framed very well (even when you have 'issues' with cropping ;) and all in all you've spoiled all of us with some very high-quality photography.
That being said, I love this shot. The fractured reflections of the people work very well, and I especially like the almost complete face in the painting at the background.. excellent composition, and even though at first I felt something was wrong because of the low color-contrast in most of the picture (obviously because of the glass), the vividness of the middle part makes it all go away!
Thanks for a great blog

the glass lines make for a very stylized picture. i also like the contrast between the greenish colour in the sudes with the warm more natura colour in the middle, as if you're looking in

That's lovely.

I cannot believe these were shot at ISO 1600. It's just simply amazing. Do you use anything for noise removal?
Oh, good shot too. :)

ben: I've recently got hold of the Neat Image plugin for mac and used it on today's and yesterday's image. I haven't had much time to experiment with it but on first glance it does seem very good.

Yes, this one works for me. Like Constantinos I like the fractured natrue of it and the, slightly weird, effect of the apparent headband on the right.

Lovely shot, Dave!
I suspected you had some kind of noise reduction... I didn’t want to believe that the EOS 20D was *that* good at ISO 1600! Glad to be right... ;) (Yes, I’m a D70 user.)
I gotta tell you, you’re great with color!
Thanks!

Dave — I use the Neat Image plugin as well, and IMHO, it was one of the best photography investments I've ever made. Amazing what that program can do.
Also, I quite like this image. The column of color in the middle is quite striking. Almost reminds me of a lensbaby shot, the way it's blurred near the edges. Or maybe I'm just weird. ;)

very graphic and interesting shot. I like the way the people look like they're wearing blindfolds on the right.

There's a disturbing element to this that you don't often get in your shots. Can't quite put my finger on why, I think it's a combination of the fractured composition, the green tint of the shot and that woman's face in the far right.

Yeah, I like this one too....the colour and confusion! Do you use a tripod David?

I like the lady on the far right, in the framed photo. She looks like Vivien Leigh.

Hi David
I am not a frequent commentator plus haven't been around for the weekend either, but back here and checked out what I have missed out in the past few days. Ok, what I stopped here for is to say, that with this photo, all my problems with the previous one are gone. Mysterious, but "straight". Great.
It is always a bit of schooling to visit chromasia. So i return...
This shot was taken through the same glass doors as yesterday's shot, but from the other side, and on the whole I'm a lot happier with this one.
