Man, Dave. I'd like to chuckle over this one as well, but frankly it gives me the creeps. The "legs" appear to have survived either a virulent case of leprosy or third degree burns.

But an image's power is in the reaction. And for that, I give you kudos. Even if it wasn't the one you'd intended.

comment by Thinh at 03:15 AM (GMT) on 29 March, 2005

I agree with Alec now that I've read his comment. It does appear as if the legs have suffered severe burns, caused by hot oil or something along the same lines. Now I can't seem to see it as the "schoolboy humour" as it was intended to be at all...doh! I guess it's all a matter of perception.

I need a good "roll my eyes" emoticon! :P

comment by Sharla at 06:35 AM (GMT) on 29 March, 2005

So, what is that ... that ... thing? A tattoo?

comment by Simon C at 09:44 AM (GMT) on 29 March, 2005

Disgraceful!!! Well spotted!

I think you need more depth of field. The noise levels are so low on the 20D you could open the aperture to f/8 and up the ISO to 400. I think the result would be even better.

The best photographs are those that make you giggle.

comment by pedro at 08:46 PM (GMT) on 29 March, 2005

what kind of calendar do you use to know the capture date of your shots? :)

comment by riff at 08:50 PM (GMT) on 29 March, 2005

hahaha.. nice one pedro, 38th of march!

comment by djn1 at 09:36 PM (GMT) on 29 March, 2005

Thanks everyone.

Alec and Thinh: I did wonder about playing up the legs in the description but thought I'd leave it and see if anyone else picked up on it.

Simon C: yes, a bit more DoF wouldn't have gone amiss.

pedro: a 'type it in without looking' one ;-) I've fixed the date now.
