This is the last of the shots that I took on the train the other day and in a muted, change of pace sort of way, it's possibly my favourite of the last three. As always though I'd be interested to hear which you preferred.
And to keep you up to date with the kitchen saga: the electrics are now finished (bar one spur for a socket that I'll put in later) so I'm going to take a break from it for a couple of days. A break that will hopefully include some time for some photography :-)

This is my favorite (I so cannot get pictures of strangers...), yesterday is second favorite, and first is last favorite. Again, I like the toning on this one.

Gorgeous. Dreamy.

This is definitely my favorite. I feel like I can identify with this person, lost in meandering thoughts...

This is definitely both a favourite of the series and a favourite of yours - there is something very poignant in her gaze, in the thoughtful and provoking expression still and lost in the world rushing by blurred and obscure. Yeah, I really love this one :)

I like this one best. The tones are gorgeous, giving a feeling of an old picture.

Your stuff is so consistently interesting, in composition and subject, that I find a small satisfaction in the occasional post that doesn't grab me. "Ah, see, he's mortal after all, and there's still hope for me...", and this was the spirit in which I enjoyed the first two. The third, however, I once again find simply beautiful and compelling and something that not only holds my attention now but I will see repeatedly in my mind over the next week or two. Thanks for all your hard work on this great blog, truly an inspiration for me.

I just absolutely love this shot. For some reason, it doesn't _feel_ like a typical Chromasia shot. Such great colours and contrast between subject and the hustle around her.

Wow! Great shot! This one is definitely better.
Wonderful.

this is one of your best shots in a long while. I am a regular visitor and only comment when something really grabs me and this certainly did. Good photos look pleasing to the eye. Great photos tell stories...

Very evocative. David I have been looking at your work sometime, but this is my first comment. What you do with reflections is really quite amazing. Though I'm certain you get plenty of practice. [Taking the train] The color in this one is really the draw.
If you are so inclined check out my work at http://ww.shadowmold.org
Definitely this one is the best.
I've seen many pictures based on this idea, so I couldn't say it's very original.
But it's nice, balanced, it has the nice parallels leading to the face, and the clouds sinking in it. The look is the strongest point for me (and probably the only possible center). Which is why I wish this lonely eye were a little more focused.

This picture -to me- is the incarnation of train travelling. It includes everything: landscaspe rushing by, people passing time & looking out of the window, contemplating, fixing distant objects occasionally, thinking, sleeping, listening to the rattling train, passing time....it's speed vs. calmness, blur vs. sharpness. Very, very beautiful.
comment byanimoid at 06:02 PM (GMT) on 9 April, 2005
Oh, and I forgot to mention that I especially like the colors here: the outside is a green and blue blur, whereas the girl has a sepia tone.

Hi David!
Brilliant picture (and I never use that word, so it has to be something special, hehe)
One guy up here said he didnīt like it because it was too banal.. Maybe that is just what I like about it.. just esthetic..
- you can always put lots of meaning into a picture, but usually I drop that part.. I just look at it, if it doesnīt give me anything I skip that picture, paining or what ever it is.. But when I first find something, then... hehe

Yeah! This is my favourite. Good one :)
Definate fav. I'm interested, though, in what makes this "banal", fernando?
amazing , this is the best of the train set, the others are good in there own way but overall i love this one, i think .
My order is yesterday's, then the day before, then this one. Out of step again.
It is a toss up between this one and the previous one. I like black and white pictures that (seem to) show angst, dispair or lonliness.
However, this one is very dream like. very evocative in a pastel and muted way.
After some thought I would have to go with yesterdays....but with the admission that on another day or in another mood, I might choose this one!
Incredibly beautiful shot...
she looks like an old painting.
timeless. very beautiful. amazing how you constantly surpass what seems to be unsurpassable when you shoot these series. :)
