A lot of the time, when selecting shots for chromasia, I pass over shots such as this – ones that lack immediate impact – in favour of something more eye-catching, or colourful, or striking, or whatever. But on this occasion I think I'll put this one up and let you tell me what you think. Personally, I like it, but I'd be hard pushed to tell you exactly why.
Tomorrow, hopefully, I'll have a night shot to put up as I'm going out shooting with Paul from skinnybuzzard.com and John from shotsphotography.co.uk – it's a full moon tonight. I'm not sure quite where we're going yet – somewhere around Blackpool is all we've decided so far – but hopefully we'll be able to come up with something worth posting. It's a while since I've been night shooting and I'm looking forward to it.

Great complexity, a lot of different elements but it still is easy on the eye.

The reflection really gives it a lot of depth. I love night shooting, have fun! I hope you get something good to show us :)

dave, the "shotsphotography.co.uk" link is mistakenly linked to shotsphotography.com. also, the little bump in the right-bottom corner of the picture is annoying. otherwise, a nice shot!

What a great composition. So ethereal.

I think it has an elegant balance to it, a fair amount of dark space offset by the three bells being the primary subject and the brighter curtain holding it all in on the right. Plus the bells and background give a nice depth to the photo.
Have fun with the night shooting, look forward to seeing the shots.

Thanks.
fotofo: I've fixed the link and I hadn't noticed the little bump - I've cloned it out in the version that's up now.
As for the night shooting: it's after midnight here and I've just got home so I won't look at them now as I'll be too tempted to start processing them. Hopefully there'll be one or two that work out.

I like it. Something about the stillness and the chimes that you can only hear in your mind?

I really like it, I guess it is because its back to the regular lens ;) Its very nice, could pass for a double exposure.

This is actually one of my favorites. It reminds me of the Juliette Binoche movie "Chocolat" -- it feels like it was shot in France in the 1950's somehow.

Feels very smooth and pleasing to the eye.

I ask myself "what is this picture trying to tell me"? Perhaps we shouldn't always look for the hidden meaning. Perhaps some photographs exist for the sake of existing. I can't help but wonder what this would look like in color. Would there be more impact or would it detract from the still quietness?
This picture leaves me with lots of questions. To make us think is a great thing, in my not so humble opinion.

~nice impression left by the tones...mainly with them starting out deep and dark on the left and moving towards a lighter tone on the right~

This image matches my mood exactly right now - calm and still while it is damp and cold and rainy all around me -- that rainy day feeling
