Well, I enjoyed the pier series but it's time for something different.
This is the first of two very similar shots – same people, same location – but they have a slightly different feel, plane of focus, and quality of lighting. Normally, I think I might have only put one of them up, but I really couldn't decide between them. I'll be interested to hear your thoughts.
Oh, and in case you were wondering, this is a straight shot other than some selective Curves adjustments and an increase in saturation. If you can't work it out I'll explain tomorrow ;-)

looks like a reflection in the overhead storage of a train or plane. Nice perspective!

Wow- a great shift from the pier series.
The purple-ish colors are very pleasing (amazing that it's not saturation-enhanced!), and the sense of movement and distortion is perfect. Ditto on the excellent composition. It looks to me like it's the reflection on the shelf above the seats on a bus or train . Really nice work; I'm a great fan, David.

I love purple...but the woman who looks like she is sleeping gave it away. I agree its either a plane or a train overhead. But since you ride train more often than not, probably that. Very intresting! I like how it is smooth and sharper in some areas.

Incredible!!! This is an oneiric representation of our every day estrangement... Everyone incapsulated in his virtual cell of loneliness, sleeping his life... An every day set that we can see simply openign our eyes... but usually we don't see it... unfortunately... I don't know why exactely, but this picture remind me to a Robert Frank shot from The Americans (the tram with people separate from windows and the reflected life on the tram's coach work)

the first empty seat looked like a luggage bag of the second passenger. i love the composition and how u managed to get the skin tone just right for the lady in focus. AMAZING SHOT!

Love this shot. It has an a futuristic feel to it. Almost like we are looking down on some form of transportation of the future. I think its a reflection in the overhead compartment also, but it feels like these people are speeding by . Great idea and fantastic result
Fantastic shot. Love the sardines look and the selective focus.

btw, David... I think you're getting the hang of the LB. The f2.0 ring was the perfect choice for this shot.

I'm not a pro, so I can't offer spot on techie commentary, but I can tell you this, I bookmarked your blog and every day as my mouse hovers over it, I kind of hold my breath a little as I wait to see what you've done. And then without fail I let it out with a little "ohhhhhhh" and smile. Love your work!

Great shot! These peeps are either coming from work or going to...awesome capture!
Looks as if they are awaiting thawing from some Cryogenic experiment, or maybe behind the scenes of an episode of Dr. Who.
Great capture.
Very cool perspective and framing. I was just beginning to wonder if the pier series, while all great shots, had run its course. Great switch.
total class.
cool - looks like you shot this one in a train...
Very nice shot!
Yep - very good and filmic if you know what I mean.
John
I must say out of all your train shots this one is my favorite. I really like how there is a bunch of differents grids. Keep it up.
this one scares the hell out of me, i have difficulty breathing, superb shot !!
at first glance i thought it was a shot of people on a very lethargic rollercoaster... :)
I think russ nailed it... Really cool perspective.
I love the pier shots, but I won't miss them ;-)
This is rockin!

This is a great picture i enjoy how you see things.
i focus on the girl, the third one, she is dreaming mi amigo and to me that's the idea.
Interesting perspective and I like the colors.
A good capture.
This is unbelievable... fantastic perspective.
I love this shot. The use of selective focus works brilliantly with the composition and the subject matter. Congratulations!
