I know I've done a few shots like this recently but a) I quite like this one too, and b) didn't have time to shoot anything else before going away this weekend. Hopefully I'll have something a bit different to put up on Sunday.

Great texture of the wood! The fence along with the blurriness is quite a barrier from the peir.
I was wondering if you use your camera's histogram while shooting your pics? Your exposure always looks so nice, no blown-out white areas or do you post process that out later?
Cheers,
Lee

It does look a bit like a widescreen film :) I am impressed with your photos, every single one of them is of a great quality. Everytime I return to your photoblog, my eyes feel like in heaven looking at such great photos. Have a nice day.

Super texture on the wood here, glad you chose B&W on that one. Very moody shot
What makes this shot great is the contrast between the sharp texture of the wood against the blurred backdrop. The contrast also makes me feel as though I am looking at two different worlds - the wood is the real, the backdrop is the dream.

Really love this composition! Love the rough wooden details and the structure in the background! Striking :)

I'm not sure why, but this photo doesn't really appeal to me. It seems too...drab (?) I suppose, but I do love the texture of the wood. :)

A striking composition with this image David. The B&W works really well, and the detail on the wood is fantastic - lovely work :)
Nice frame
