Yesterday I said that I'd only taken one shot at Morecambe that I was pleased with, but there's this one too (which I hadn't looked at when I posted yesterday's). This one isn't as attention-grabbing, but I do quite like it, not least because I really like this sort of map (though I don't know why).
And in case you're wondering: the contrast for the map was enhanced with a separate curve as the text in the original is very faint.
I love the tones in this one David. Great composition. Ireally like these type of maps too...they are a great way of learning the lie of the land.
David, I am curious to know how you find working with DxO Optics Pro. I don't need another RAW converter, but would like the lens correction modules, especially for my EF17-40L. Do you receommend it? Cheers, Paul.

Really clever idea well executed. Its bland colours make it appear timeless... was it taken yesterday, or 30 years ago?
Smashing!

Definitely a clever use of available resources! I know that you generally (always?) stick to the current picture orientation, but in keeping with the sign, a panorama crop might be fun. Also, with Alan's thought about "timeless" - I wonder how it would look in Sepia?
I also look forward to your review of DxO!

Shame it wasn't clearer - it's such a beautiful view normally. Great picture with the available options though!

Like it, it has this old style colouring to it, which is really neat.

I like the perspective and the colours. The weather doesn't look that nice but still the atmosphere is very calm!

Paul,
Have you looked at PTLens by http://epaperpress.com/ptlens/. If you just want to correct lens distortion then this could be just what you are looking for and it's free!
Adrian
That's a great shot. Definitely one of my favourites of yours.

not your best. its an interesting shot though. also, its interesting how you hold the camera as shown in the link of you taking yesterdays picture. do you normally hold it that way, and not under the lens? jus wondering :)

Great composition, i really like the tones in this shot, its amazing.
Paul: DxO Optics Pro is great for correcting lens distortion, particularly with my 17-40mm, and I'd definitely recommend it, but Adrian is right, PTLens is much cheaper ;-)
J: yes, I think I mostly hold the camera that way.
Thanks for the info on PT Lens David & Adrian. It works really well on my wide angle lenses. It's not until you use it you realise how much distortion there actually is, especially barrel distoration.

I think, David, of all the things I appreciate about your photography, your grasp of color and how it adds to the scene is what I like the most.

Ha! Clever composition David. Well done...
Excellent shot. I have really enjoyed your trip as well!
Composition is first class. I love the contrast between the cool greys of the chart below and the warm greys of the rocks above.

Great composition. Almost like a painting.
Well done, David. Like Jessyel said...very creative.
Great job...again! :) You're my idol!!!
Title is in the photo, only thing you could hope for is better weather, it looks very cloudy and overcast out. The map is a nice touch.
Awesome picture. I really, really like this one.
you are my hero, excellently shot
I love the distortion of the lens. . .

I love this one especially. I will consider buying a copy from you once I've moved into my new place - I would love to have it on my wall. :)
Beautifull and clever.
