I love this time of year: it's warm, the light is still wonderful even at 22 minutes past eleven, and better still tomorrow is my last busy day at work before the summer :-)
On another matter, and thanks to all the people who emailed me and left comments to let me know, chromasia has made an appearance on time.com as one of their 50 Coolest Websites 2005 ... which is cool ;-)

Wow. Incredible image, Dave. Looks like an infinite field of fog. Absolutely amazing! The composition is fantastic... the sand fence leading the eye to the horizon beautifully.

As I recently returned from England, I was struck at the gorgeous amount of light both in quality and quantity. I love in this shot how the horizon line to foreground goes from smooth (the timed exposure) to detailed (the rocks and jetty). this is also mimicked in the transition from the sky (smooth) to clouds (detailed). Well Done!!

This is beautiful. The colors merging at the horizon. I love it. And Congratulations on the Time.com acknowledgment. Certainly deserved!
I've been going to about three favourite photoblogs each day for about a month, and I find myself quite frequently dissapointed -- but it's rare that you do. Very surreal, very wicked.

Just beautiful, what else to say. I like how you used 30s exposure time to get such beautiful colours and effects.
Dave, posting this as a continuation of yesterday's comments...
Here is the link to Time Magazine, where Chromasia was listed as one of the "50 Coolest Websites". It's under the blogs section, but you can see the name in the cover graphic.
A beautiful shot; I really like your long-exposures.
This color range really appeals to me for some reason. Nice work as always.

I am a day too late, but I suppose it's never too late to congratulate somebody on a job well done. I just read the post on photoblogs.org. Congrats David.
This one definitely looks like something not of this world.
I enjoyed that last few shots of your girls. 'Somewhat impish' reminded me of Chuckie from the old horro classic Child's Play. Don't take that the wrong way. Your kid is super cute otherwise! ;)
Take care.

Hi Dave,
I love chromasia, I discovered your site about a month ago and I am addicted.
I sometimes shoot as well (never anything like yours) but I keep coming into noisy images. particularily when I shoot something like this one (with lots of sky).
I use a Panasonic FZ20... Is the noise due to the quality of the camera?
How do you prevent noise on digital?
I am sorry if this doesn't fit into a good comment, I just think there is a lot to learn form a pro.
Thanks and again, you are an awesome photographer.

Wonderful photograph, Dave. I'm a little curious as to what makes up the bottom part of the photograph -- it stands out from the smooth water surface.
Dhwanit: it's a groin, to stop the sand being swept from the beach.
