It's a while since I posted anything taken with my fisheye lens so I thought I'd put this one up. It's two of my nephews taken the weekend before last when we were down in Canvey.

Great use of the fish-eye lens, the way the grass rolls away towards the corners makes it look like they're on top of a hill! Great, fun portrait (focus looks slightly off, but in an image like this, it really doesn't matter, content is all!)
Oh, and lush greens!!!

I have a little advice for you:
Right now, you have hundreds of beautiful pictures in your talented hands. Some are probably two or three years old now. If you want, you could separate them by year, or organize them however you want. Sometimes, when I go to other blogs or sites with great photos or pictures, they never organize their pictures neatly, and so sometimes, people never find the pictures they're looking for. Your site is still really neat and clean, no doubt about that. However, since your photo number is climbing up to six hundred, I suggest that you start organizing them and sorting them out. You could "clean out" some of the photos you dislike and "refresh" some of your favorite photos. This is only an advice, and an option. You don't have to do this if you don't want to. Good luck!

Great shot, makes me want to buy a fish eye lens! I love your site. The photos always have a surreal / imaginative quality about them. The green in this photo seems a little fake, but it fits the theme.

Hey, I'm a first time commenter here, but a long term fan of your photography. This is by far my favourite photography site, and I love almost all of your shots.
This one is one of my favourites, and it's surprised me that quite a few people don't like it. I admit that it's not like your usual style, but I think that's good. Photographers shouldn't stick to one distinct style as it may begin to get stale, so it's good for them to try different things every now and again.
This photo is great. The colours are vibrant and make the whole image jump out at you, and although the perspective makes me feel dizzy, I love it.

Nice shot - I see that you put the 17-40 away for this one. It's a refreshing change (though your work is always great).
A week or two back, you had wondered if you had started to develop a style. Now you have your answer. Good or bad, you have a style and this photo definitely diverts from it. It caught your regular viewers off guard and some didn't take it that well :)
I, for one, love it!

As you seem to be getting a lot of positive feed-back, I may be in a tiny minority (maybe even alone?) in saying I just don’t feel easy with the pictures of children, as opposed to your landscapes and even photos of adults. They seem sort of voyeuristic, and given that they often seem distorted in some way (either in the use of photo-manipulation of colour etc. to make eyes more stare-y, or the lens, as here, or in actuality, as per the one of the little girl with the nose bleed) I just can’t get comfortable with these. Sorry.

Simon: Girl with the nose bleed? Which shot was that? I don't recall. Can't even find it in the search.
For the photo.. I love this perspective, but I don't like the back focus. I wish their face was more in focus than their feet.
This is so brilliant, just like the abstract carnival sketches (can't remember what they are called). It is amusing, I laughed when I saw it, very fun. It is very unique, thank you for posting such a creative, fun shot! Don't you have th 10-22mm lens as well? I'd love to see more shots with that, I'm considering buying it for the wide angle shots but you seem to get really great wide angle with the 17-40L. hmm, decisions.
Very different for you, David, but I really like it. I'm a big fan of green green grass. I like the fisheye perspective. I always tend to get my feet in the shot when I use mine. Great job!

Well done Dave. This is excellent. It has a 'toon town' feel because of the colour of the grass and the expression of the boy on the right. Really cool.

This fish-eye view was popular in advertising a couple years ago. I think it's a fun and very well done photo, and reminds me of how goofy kids act sometimes. And I've I said before, I would be quite disappointed if you settled into a "style". We can always come here and be surprised or challenged, at the very least it makes us think!
Thanks all. As for this shot: yes, the focus is a bit off, no, the grass wasn't quite that shade of green, and yes, I did get my feet in the shot. Well, my toes at least, so I cloned them out.
Hanlu: my pictures are categorised, both in terms of content and my view of their quality. As for deleting some: chromasia is my visual diary, as much as anything else, so I wouldn't be happy removing any of the entries.
kim: I haven't tried the 10-22, but I've seen some good results with it, many on notraces.com.
Simon: it isn't my intention that the viewer should be entirely comfortable with these shots. I'll write more about my reasons why on my entry tomorrow.
Simon/miklos: Daaave's right, the nosebleed shot was on orbit1, and I have to say that I think it was a great shot.

Simon, David's pictures of kids, especially his own are the types of pictures that, 10 years down the road, they will say "that one was my favorite." They are unique and unlike the traditional pictures parents take of their children. When I have kids you better believe I will want to take pictures of them in ways that are different than an average picture. David's photos are visually stunning and breathtaking in a way that inspires people to be more creative with their photos.
Well done, David.
