This is the shot I was going to put up yesterday – until events overtook us – as it follows on from this one. This is Peter, with his son's girlfriend sat next to him (a former Miss Blackpool) and her friend in the back of the jeep. And like the previous shot of Peter I think this one does a good job of conveying something of his lifestyle as a member of the entertainments industry is Blackpool.
Anyway, more importantly, many thanks for the massive number of comments you left on yesterday's entry; both my wife and I very much appreciate them. They're both doying fine, but are both still pretty tired, ... not surprisingly.
And apologies for the confusion regarding our son's name; i.e. that some of you thought that he was called Peter. Actually, we haven't settled on a name yet. We did intend to call him Finlay, but it means fair-haired, and his hair is almost black at the moment, so, for the present, he doesn't have a name. Two others we're considering are Sebastian and Piers, or maybe both – Piers Sebastian. Anyway, I'll let you know when we decide. And I did want to take some more pictures of him today, but I've been totally whacked. Not so much tired, just drained ... glad it's all over I guess, and that they're both ok.

Oh yeah....nice pic too. :)
comment byervin at 10:19 PM (GMT) on 24 August, 2005
so you're saying the one sitting next to Peter is the ex-Miss Blackpool? Why didn't they let the other one run?
comment byVelviapix at 10:24 PM (GMT) on 24 August, 2005
Dave,
Now I can guess the story ;-) It is so much easier to do when you add the two girls.
To me, this picture would have been so much better without Peter in it though. Justthe girls on the Jeep would have made it more photographic. Somehow, seeing Peter on the cell phone does not square with the rest of the image, and neither do the people in the background.
Ok, I am getting a bit too crazy, but I think having the girls on the Jeep, on the previous Peter shot would have been more appealing.
But after some criticism on my post for today, someone commented... as long as you see what you meant to see in your image, you should be pleased.
I was pleased, and I hope you are too with this one.
And... Piers Sebastian sounds great!!!
comment byPhilB at 10:26 PM (GMT) on 24 August, 2005
Piers Sebastian would be a good name. Piers seems appropriate somehow, living in Blackpool! ; )

comment byTim at 11:34 PM (GMT) on 24 August, 2005
I don't mind saying, those ladies are pretty easy on the eyes.
I respectfully disagree with Velviapix above, though. I believe Pete's presence in the Jeep is central to communicate the story told in this portrait. The viewer's attention is directed straight to him, simply because of the contrast of his appearance from those of the women: he's old, they're young; he's clothed; they're not; also, he's the only one of the three looking at the camera. The fact that he's on the cell phone is crucial to establishing him in the viewer's mind as a fat-cat businessman in the entertainment business, and it's a perfect balance. Any more over-the-top and he would appear to be pimping the girls.
