Hopefully this shot is a little more obvious than yesterday's effort which generated a lot more discussion than I anticipated. I guess, if nothing else, it goes to show that the majority of you have a good imagination ;-)
As for this one: I did intent to write something about attempts to capture movement with photography, but I'm bushed and am going to get the kids to bed, drink lots of wine, and stay asleep as long as is humanely possible tomorrow morning. Which, with five kids, probably won't be much past 8.30am ... if I'm lucky.
Anyway, if you are in the mood for a good discussion take a look at John's latest entry which looks like it could shape up into an interesting discussion about photography and photoblogging.

What I love about your images is the simplicity and yet profound definitions. There is no doubt what element is the focus of the image; it always stands out. I don't think this shot has any story to tell, but you did a great job capturing movement and emphasizing that by bringing out the vibrant red in the bag. Nice!

I love how crumpler name their bags :) I love the softness and motion of this shot - the bold red colour works very well with the neutral surroundings too. Great shot Dave :)

Ha. There is certainly a lot of chat about. I do like this image. But I have to say that I don't like the Crumpler bags. I say this because I'm using one at the moment. It's too small and too expensive. So Crumpler deserves a good blur. Funny.

Great! Looking at this pic I feel like I'm following this person. Amazing work, the red bag is fantastic, some kind of hypnotic.

I love the sense of motion and the stroke of the lines. The red really jumps out at you.

I like the three color scheme: beige, black, and red. Lots of exciting hot-pursuit motion too. Are you chasing this person and/or their bag somewhere special?!

I like the motion and the simple colors - red/black/beige, but after seeing that, there isn't much to see or think about.

oooooooooooh . . . . i absolutely love blur as a compositional element and use it a lot myself. this is a great shot; the shock of red plus the movement pulling the viewer into the story . . . . beautiful.

Firstly Dave - thanks for linking to my site - a nice debate is underway and if you have time then I would be interested in your comments.
I like this shot a lot. It has captured an amount of movement that isn't over blurred and the Red bag is a strong anchor and focal point in the image.
As the man behind the camera - what attracted you to this shot - was it the Red bag or did you see it as being iconic in some way.
I have got a similar shot of a business man carrying two briefcases in which I wanted to convey a sense of urgency.
Nice work

This is a good example of how monitor size can make a difference in appreciating a shot. The monitor I'm currently viewing this on is set at a 800 x 600 resolution, and therefore the shot takes up most of the screen. I had to step back a couple of feet to get a sense of what this was.

Now this is a classic chromasia shot. Really, really good shot Dave. I think motion shots are amongst the hardest to capture profesionally, but you've really nailed this one. Lovely work.

Wow. I really like this one. The way you use color alone to guide the eye is fantastic. I'm not an expert of any kind, but I don't think I've ever seen a shot quite like this.

The red forces your eye to look and the blur keeps you looking.

Erk... I really like your shots in general, but I'm afraid for me this is a case of the Emperor's New Clothes. Don't get the fuss here - this is one I'd have deleted almost instantly, although I do love the redness of it. Maybe there's a 'story' here from your point of view (although it sounds like you were too bushed to tell us - much like me right now!) but as I commented on yesterday's shot, sometimes 'story's aren't what motivates me to take, or like, a shot. I love the red, but I don't particularly like the lack of focus or context in this shot (and I don't mean focus as in sharpness).

I have this bag! the exact one! its so cool! yay for crumplers

I recognise that bag! Would this be Andy of Futura, taken at the meet?
I have a few images of other Pbloggers from previous meets and the red bag always stands out against the grey London streets.

It gives the sensation of the image in movement...
:)
Despite the blurriness, which normally destroys photos that I take, this is very soft and works well.
Thanks everyone, and no, this one doesn't tell a story. For me, this one was simply about catching the movement.
Which Crumpler bag is this one anyway?
