All the entries on chromasia are placed into one of seven primary categories: six to reflect the aspect ratio of the image, and the seventh to indicate that an image isn’t available as a print. Additionally, each photograph may be assigned to one of more additional categories or subcategories, e.g. my travel category, children category, and so on.
Images in this category were shot with an IR converted X-E2.
Something a bit different today: an infrared shot with my converted X-E2, taken on the way back from our trip to Murano island.

This was taken back in June when Libby and I spent a weekend in the Lakes: shot with my infrared converted Fujifilm X-E2.

This is definitely one of my favourite portraits in recent months: a shot of our good friend Dionne, shot with an IR converted X-E2 and the new 90mm f/2.
If you're a Fuji shooter you'll already know that all their lenses are good, but the 90mm is truly excellent, even wide open. I'd definitely recommend you try it out if you haven't done so.

Although this looks like a fairly standard image it's another infrared shot taken with my converted X-E2. As with the previous image I posted I used the Channel Mixer to swap the blue and red channels which, in this instance, has created an image that's fairly close to the original scene. That said, I am glad I shot this with the X-E2 as the quality of light is quite different, particularly the amount of light in the darker areas of the image.
I don't have any more IR images to post at the moment, but as soon as the sun comes out I'll head down to the beach and shoot some more.

This is the third infrared shot I've posted from our recent trip to the Lakes, and it's probably the most surreal of the bunch, mostly because I used a technique that allows you to mimic a blue sky. If you take a look at the original you'll see that the image as a whole has a red/brown tint, typical of an infrared image white-balanced for foliage. By switching the red and blue channels you can return the sky to something like a fairly normal colour, and by adding a mask to this layer you can confine the effect to just the sky. In other words, the ground and foliage are very similar to the straight shot, while the colour of the sky has been switched. I suspect the novelty of this approach will wear off at some point, but for the moment it's an effect I really like.
As always, let me know what you think.

Here's the second of the IR images I mentioned. This was also taken just above Loweswater in the Lake District, but was processed slightly differently to the last image. In this case, rather than convert the image to a straight black and white - which really does suit this type of image - I allowed some of the original colour to show through then added a curve to add a mild sepia-like tone.

Despite getting my X-E2 converted to infrared towards the end of last year I haven't really had much chance to shoot with it, so when Libby and I headed up to the Lakes for a couple of days at the end of last week I decided to make a concerted effort to use it. I have three, maybe four shots to post, and this is probably the most conventional, i.e. a straight black and white conversion from the original IR image.
As always, let me know what you think.

This is another shot from my recent trip to Shenzhen in China, but unlike the previous images this was taken with an IR converted X-E2.
