Buzludzha, 2017
18th August 2017
by David J. Nightingale
It’s six years since I posted an image of the Buzludzha monument, one of the most striking buildings in Bulgaria. Built to commemorate the events of 1891 – when a group of socialists led by Dimitar Blagoev got together to form a socialist movement that later developed into the Bulgarian communist party – it’s now abandoned, neglected, and for the most part ignored.
I’m hoping to head up there again before we head back to the UK, so watch this space for further images.
