Buzludzha Monument, Bulgaria (IR) (2018)
8th October 2018
by David J. Nightingale
As I mentioned in my last post, we ran our first Experience Bulgaria Photo Tour this summer, based out of Veliko Turnovo, the historic capital of the Second Bulgarian Empire. One of our trips out of the city was to the Shipka Memorial (I’ll post a shot from there soon) and to Buzludzha, home of the often photographed Buzludzha monument. I’ve written about this before, so check out this post if you’d like to read more about this iconic building.
We haven’t advertised it yet, but will let you notify you all via our newsletter when we upload the details about next year’s trip.

A shot of the Buzludzha monument, one of the most striking buildings in Bulgaria. Built to commemorate the formation of the Bulgarian socialist movement, it's now abandoned, neglected, and for the most part ignored.
